Job summary

Arup in Hong Kong invites applications for a Graduate Fire Safety Engineer (2027 Intake). You will contribute to planning, design and assessment of fire safety for buildings and facilities, and support project delivery from design to submission.

You will develop fire safety strategies, conduct risk assessments, and run analyses using FDS and evacuation modelling tools, while producing clear technical reports and collaborating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's level degree in Fire Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or relevant Engineering degree.
• Graduated recently, or be on track to complete your most recent relevant degree before your employment start date.
• An interest in or experience related to Scripting (Programming).
• Fluent in English. Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is an advantage.
• No more than 2 years of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Full working rights in the country of application

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the planning, design, and assessment of fire safety for buildings and industrial facilities etc.
• Develop and support fire safety strategies, emergency response planning, fire risk assessments, and compliance reviews
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate effective fire protection measures into project designs
• Undertake fire engineering analysis using tools such as Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) and evacuation modelling software, while preparing clear and structured technical reports
• Support project delivery through design development, statutory submission, construction inspections, stakeholder communication, quality assurance activities, and identifying opportunities for additional work
