Job summary

Payoneer Inc. in Hong Kong is seeking a Payroll Operations specialist to manage payroll and related compensation across APAC, ensuring timely and accurate processing with external vendors.

You will collaborate with HR and Finance, support the global equities team, and drive improvements to payroll processes while maintaining compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • 5–8 years in Payroll operations/Finance with supervisory experience.
  • Strong English; Cantonese/Mandarin preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze payroll and related compensation for APAC.
  • Support global equities team for local filing in APAC.
  • Resolve employee payroll inquiries with stakeholders.
  • Establish payroll policies collaborating with HR and Finance across APAC and US head office.
  • Drive process improvements in payroll operations.
  • Handle corporate payments, invoices and reimbursements.

What you will do
  • Payroll Operations
  • Process and analyze payroll and related compensation in a timely and accurate manner, working with internal and external stakeholders, such as outsourced payroll vendors, covering Asia Pacific (APAC) region
  • Support global equities team in relation to local filing and reporting needs across Asia Pacific
  • Manage and resolve employee inquiries relating to payroll matters
  • Establish procedures and policies for payroll and related compensation, collaborating with HR and Finance teams, across APAC and US head office
  • Ideate and drive improvements by constantly challenging existing models, with the goal to positively transform payroll process and experience for employees
  • Corporate payments
  • Process payment requests with relevant supporting documents and obtain proper approvals.
  • Handle invoice settlements and expense reimbursements.
  • Assisting relevant purchasing requestors and procurement team across APAC region if needed.
  • Month end closing & financial analysis
  • Perform month end closing duties including financial analysis, reviewing full general ledger, P&L, Balance sheet according to USGAAP, and/or any local GAAP in the Asia Pacific region; Experience in consolidation is also an added advantage.
  • Assisting any audit requirements (Internal and external).
  • Financial Projects and Process Improvements
  • Participate in finance transformation projects and application of AI technologies.
  • Define and deliver process improvements across Finance team, focusing on:
  • Controls and risk assessment.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Have you done this kind of stuff?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent
  • 5 – 8 years working experience in Payroll operations/Finance/Account, with prior experience in a supervisory or senior capacity within a multinational environment.
  • Prior working experience in payroll-related scope
  • High level of written and spoken English. Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) also preferred
  • Excellent computer and accounting software skills (especially Excel)
Not a must but a great advantage
  • Experience in Business Central ERP
  • Experience in managing Asia Pacific region (or multiple regions)
  • Experience in payroll and/or accounting
  • Applicants with less experience may be considered for an Assistant Manager role.
