Job description

Manage investments and trading activities across rates and derivatives, with a primary focus on USD rates markets, and independently develop trading strategies, execute trades and manage portfolio risks.

Monitor pricing, yield curve dynamics, supply and demand conditions, market positioning and flows across government bond and rates markets; identify mispricing, expectation gaps and structural trading opportunities; and prepare trading reports, post-trade reviews and position analyses.

Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Finance, Operations and Middle & Back Office teams to help establish core mechanisms including risk limits, trading workflows, settlement processes, valuation checks and position/transaction records, ensuring smooth trading operations.

Participate in the build-out of the Global Markets FICC proprietary trading business and contribute to the development of investment frameworks, trading capabilities and related business processes.

Based on the evolving needs of the team, undertake other responsibilities related to investment, trading and business development.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of investment and trading experience in USD rates and derivatives markets, with the ability to independently manage the full investment process. Candidates with a verifiable investment track record are preferred. Experience in bank proprietary trading, securities firm proprietary trading, hedge funds or major international financial institutions is preferred.

Strong sensitivity to market pricing and changes in market expectations. Maintain effective communication with major counterparties and market participants in rates and derivatives markets, with strong capabilities in obtaining and exchanging relevant market information.

Able to adapt to the trading characteristics of global rates markets and flexibly manage trading and risk management responsibilities around major economic data releases, policy events and periods of heightened market volatility, as required by portfolio management needs.

Strong risk awareness and trading discipline, with the ability to clearly identify the key sources of return and risk exposures of individual trades and allocate positions and risk budgets appropriately based on risk-reward considerations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to communicate directly with international counterparties and market participants.
