Michael Page International (HK) Ltd is assisting a well-established Hong Kong-based investment platform in hiring an Equity Research Analyst focused on global hard tech. You will conduct deep fundamental research on global technology companies, build robust financial models, and generate differentiated investment ideas for both long and short opportunities.

The role requires strong Chinese language skills (Mandarin) and English communication, with 3–10 years in the tech research space.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above from a top-tier university.
• 3-10 years of relevant investment research experience, with a strong focus on the technology sector.
• Proven experience gained at: Leading hedge funds; Long-only asset managers; Global investment banks; Private investment firms; Reputable investment research platforms; Candidates with international or overseas research experience are highly preferred.

• Conduct deep fundamental research on global technology companies across key subsectors including semiconductors, hardware & electronics, and digital infrastructure.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks, and earnings forecasts.
• Generate differentiated long and short investment ideas through rigorous bottom-up analysis.
• Analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, technology developments, and regulatory changes impacting opportunities.
• Prepare high-quality investment memos and present recommendations to the Founder/CIO.

• Hardware & Electronics
• Digital Infrastructure
• Generate differentiated long and short investment ideas through rigorous bottom-up analysis.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks, and earnings forecasts.
• Analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, technology developments, and regulatory changes impacting investment opportunities.
• Conduct channel checks, expert calls, management meetings, industry conferences, and primary research.
• Prepare high-quality investment memos and present recommendations directly to the Founder/CIO.
• Monitor portfolio holdings, earnings releases, and market developments to identify risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with portfolio management and investment teams on position sizing, catalysts, and risk assessment.

A reputable Chinese L/S Equity fund house in Hong Kong Excellent background of investment team

• Bachelor's degree or above from a top-tier university.
• 3-10 years of relevant investment research experience, with a strong focus on the technology sector.
• Proven experience gained at:

• Global investment banks
• Private investment firms
• Reputable investment research platforms
• Candidates with international or overseas research experience are highly preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of developing investment recommendations and generating actionable investment ideas within the technology sector.

Technical & Investment Skills

• Deep understanding of global technology sectors and business models.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to generate actionable investment ideas with independent conviction.
• Experience conducting extensive primary research and developing differentiated insights.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Language

• Native Mandarin speaker is essential.
• Strong English communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with both Chinese and international management
• Candidates with experience covering US-listed, Hong Kong-listed, China ADR, and broader global technology companies will be viewed favorably.
