Job summary

Huatai International Financial Holdings Company Limited is seeking a qualified lawyer to manage overseas and cross-border derivatives documents from a legal perspective. You will work with structuring, trading and sales teams to finalize ISDA/CSA and related agreements.

The role involves developing new derivatives structures, reducing legal and regulatory risks, and providing cross-border hedging solutions. Fluency in Chinese and English is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in law from a well-known law school.
• 5–7 years of working experience in legal field, preferably with derivatives or financial industry.
• Familiar with legal documents for derivatives trading and capable of drafting and negotiating independently.
• Take ownership, quick learner, strong logical thinking, good communication skills and teamwork.
• Fluent in Chinese and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Overseas and cross-border derivatives product or transaction documents from legal and compliance perspective.
• Collaborate with structuring, trading and sales teams on ISDA/CSA and related agreements.
• Develop new derivatives products and structures, reflecting terms in project documents to reduce risks.
• Design cross-border hedging solutions and draft related agreement terms.
• Coordinate with internal/external legal, risk, and operations departments; draft and revise risk disclosures.
• Review templates and provide training to business units; manage external counsels and fees.

Job Description:

• Responsible for overseas and cross-border derivatives product or transaction related documents from legal and compliance perspective, including equities, commodities, bonds or other underliers;


• Cooperate with structuring, trading and sales teams to complete the negotiation, communication and document drafting of ISDA/CSA/GMSLA/PB/MCA/TS/Structured Notes and other derivatives transaction related agreements and confirmations


• Participate in the development of new derivatives products and new derivatives structures of onshore or overseas underlier according to regulatory trends and business needs, reflect relevant structuring terms in derivatives product and project documents, and design relevant provisions to reduce compliance, legal, and reputational risks;


• Participate in the design of cross-border structured derivative products, provide cross-border customers with hedging risk solutions, and design relevant agreement terms to reduce business risks;


• Communicate with internal and external legal & compliance, risk management and operations departments, draft and revise transaction documents, account opening and transaction procedures and project risk assessment;


• Draft, review and revise various legal agreements, risk disclosure statements and DISCLAIMERS in order to meet the ad hoc or specific needs of the business and customers;


• Regularly review and update relevant legal document templates, and provide relevant training to business departments in a timely manner; and


• Coordinate with and manage the external counsels, supervise their delivery and deal with the fees quotes and payment procedure

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or above in law-related majors from well-known law schools, preferably with relevant legal qualification (onshore or offshore);


• 5 – 7 years of working experience in legal filed, preferably with relevant experience in derivatives or financial industry;


• Familiar with legal knowledge and documents related to derivatives trading, and capable of legal drafting and negotiation for derivatives transactions independently;


• Take ownership, quick learner, strong logical thinking, good communication skills and strong team spirit;


• Good spoken and written Chinese and English.
