Job summary

Octopus Capital Investment Limited is seeking a dynamic trader to analyze and execute trades across equities, options, and ETFs while monitoring portfolio risk and research supporting investment strategies. You will execute instructions across HK, US, and global markets with emphasis on best execution and efficiency.

The role requires a finance degree, 2+ years trading experience in HK/US markets, and strong financial modeling skills.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Finance or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years trading experience in equities, options, ETFs (HK/US).
• Experience in asset management or family office is a plus.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills; proficient in financial modelling.
• Familiar with trading tools, order execution platforms, and market databases.

Responsibilities

• Execute trading instructions independently across HK, US, and global equities, options, and ETFs.
• Monitor daily trading activities, portfolio performance, drawdowns, market exposures, position-level risks, and account margin levels.
• Ensure all trading activities align with investment strategies, portfolio risk parameters, and operational guidelines.
• Build, maintain, and update dynamic financial and valuation models for HK and US-listed companies.
• Produce clear, data-driven analytical reports, stock pitches, and strategy presentation materials to support senior leadership decision-making.
• Support ad-hoc investment, research, and portfolio management projects as required.

Key responsibilities

Execute trading instructions independently across HK, US, and global equities, options, and ETFs, ensuring strict adherence to execution efficiency and best execution practices

Monitor daily trading activities, portfolio performance, drawdowns, market exposures, position-level risks, and account margin levels

Ensure all trading activities align with investment strategies, portfolio risk parameters, and operational guidelines

Build, maintain, and update dynamic financial and valuation models for HK and US-listed companies

Produce clear, data-driven analytical reports, stock pitches, and strategy presentation materials to support senior leadership decision-making

Support ad-hoc investment, research, and portfolio management projects as required

Requirement

Degree holder in Finance, or related disciplines

Minimum 2 years proven trading experience in equities, options, and ETFs, with strong hands-on exposure to HK and US markets

Relevant experience in asset management or family office would be a plus

Analytical and detail-minded with good numerical sense; Proficient in financial modelling

Strong familiarity with trading tools, order execution platforms, and market databases

High level of self-motivation, integrity, and a passion for global financial markets

Excellent command of written and spoken English and fluent Mandarin
