Job summary

Leighton Asia is seeking an Environmental Officer in Hong Kong to support the Project Manager on environmental matters and the Environmental Management System performance. You will ensure permits are valid, coordinate with authorities, and promote environmental awareness on site.

Responsibilities include site inspections, training, and supervising subcontractors to prevent incidents, while reporting outcomes to internal and external stakeholders. Fluency in English and Chinese is required.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Environmental discipline or relevant discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in main contractors is preferable.
• Details oriented with strong environmental awareness and problem solving skill.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Manager on environmental matters and the performance of the Environmental Management System
• Apply and ensure validity of all environmental permit or licences necessary for the execution of works
• Coordinate with relevant Authorities and other stakeholder on the Project related environmental matters and complaint
• Promote a high level of environmental awareness of the Project Team through training, communication and weekly briefings
• Inspect regularly all work places and neighbouring areas to ensure compliance with the legal and contractual requirements and the avoidance of anyenvironmental incidents
• Provide feedback on new safety and environmental work methods and assist the site teams with environmental aspects and impacts to maintain a pollution free working environment
• Manage environmental standards and train subcontractors to ensure the avoidance of any environmental incidents
• Attend meeting internally and externally to report the Project associated environmental matters
• Carry out site inspections or audits internally and externally and supervise environmental measures
