Job summary

Zurich Insurance in Hong Kong seeks a risk professional to support the Chief Risk Officer in embedding Enterprise Risk Management and robust risk controls across the local business.

You will coordinate risk assessments, challenge new initiatives, and prepare clear risk reports for executive committees, the Board Risk Committee, and regulators. This role requires a degree, at least 3 years in risk/audit, fluent English, and a background in financial services risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance, commerce, risk management, engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years in risk management, operations, actuarial, or audit, preferably in life insurance or financial services in Hong Kong.
• Good understanding of Enterprise Risk Management concepts and Insurance Authority requirements (GL21, GL10, GL14, GL20, HK RC regime).
• Experience in risk advisory and interaction with senior management or regulators is highly regarded.
• Experience with risk metrics, KRIs, capital measures, data visualization, or AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
• Knowledge of risk management methods and tools including RCSA, risk quantification, ORSA, and stress testing.
• Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, with commercial judgement and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent report writing, communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Risk Officer in embedding and enhancing ERM and operational risk frameworks across Zurich's Hong Kong business.
• Coordinate risk and control assessments, top risk processes, and tracking of issues and actions across functions.
• Review and challenge internal controls, key business initiatives, new products, and material changes.
• Prepare clear and insightful risk reports for management, the Risk Control Committee, the Board Risk Committee, Regional and Group Risk, and regulators.
• Support oversight of key risk areas including operational, investment, insurance, conduct, technology, cyber, and emerging risks.
• Maintain risk governance documentation including policies, committee terms of reference, attestations, and regulatory submissions.
• Support compliance with Insurance Authority requirements, Zurich Group Risk Policy, ORSA, risk appetite, and stress testing under HK regime.
• Promote a strong risk and governance culture through stakeholder engagement, constructive challenge, and risk training.
