Job summary

Societe Generale seeks an experienced Functional and Application Architect to translate business stakes into technology strategies across Asia-Pacific, and beyond. You will coordinate architecture studies, align with strategic roadmaps, and support project teams through the development lifecycle.

The role requires strong technical background (C#, Java, Python), experience in global enterprise systems, and excellent communication with internal users and global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in CS or CE.
• In-depth experience in architecture, design and build, support or analysis across technology projects.

Responsibilities

The role of functional and application architect within this entity is key to translate business stakes into technology stakes and influence the organization so that it results in actual IT solutions. The main tasks are as follows, across Asia-Pacific and sometimes more globally, in close collaboration with peers from other regions:

• Drive IT demand management in front of business sponsors and IT stakeholders
• Coordinate Functional architecture studies (technical studies when relevant) to launch new projects
• Follow the strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with the North Star Design Architectural Principles
• Support project and application development teams throughout the application development lifecycle
• Coordinate all architecture matters as single point of contact on any transformation projects
• Contribute to the definition and maintenance of architecture standards (blueprints)
• Gatekeeper of application recertification, validation, documentation for Asia Pacific following Global Standard, tools and processes (Kear, ARC internal lists, etc)
• Identify, promote and share best practices, in terms of functional and application architecture following design principles
• Review and Validate Architectural Functional and\or Technical (when relevant) aspects of SG\Initiatives
• Build and Present projects and studies in relevant forums particularly at the Design Authority
• Manage users’ requirements and provide in-depth business analysis & solutions
• Communicate and report to business and IT peers and senior stakeholders
• Explore new technologies and drive for improvement wherever possible

Profile required

• Strong Functional and\or technical background with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Experience in Technology projects in relevant fields performing roles involved either in Architecture, Design and Build, Support or Analysis with strong technology foundations
• Experience supporting, developing and\or implementing global enterprise systems small to large scale either Pre-Trade, Post-Trade or End to End
• Strong written and verbal communication skills at business and technical level
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new environment
• Interact directly with internal users to gather business specifications
• Collaborate with various global teams for project delivery
• Experience in managing and\or working in close partnership with developers
• Strong team player, able to coach and grow team members
• Proven experience in Agile, TDD, continuous delivery
• Development in C#, Java & Python development experience will be an advantage
• Knowledge in Markets Products (FIC or EQD) will be an advantage

Department Description

The mission of the architecture team, within GBTO, is to drive and support the IS Strategy closely in collaboration with the business and operational teams. Specialized in the transformation of the IS, it requires individuals who can play a key role through their leadership and strong expertise. The successful candidate will be part of this architecture department in Asia, and will contribute in defining and enforcing the IT Strategy in the Asia Pacific region interacting with regional and global major stakeholders. The position is based in Hong Kong and reporting to the Head of IT Architecture team in Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.
