Job summary

King & Wood is seeking an experienced bilingual translator to produce precise Mandarin-English versions of original materials. You will ensure style consistency with the firm's communication standards and use CAT tools to support translations.

Qualifications

• Holds a recognised translation qualification (certificate or degree).
• At least 2 years of translation experience within a professional services firm.
• Familiar with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools and Translation Memories.
• Able to annotate PDFs and perform simultaneous Mandarin-English translations.

Responsibilities

• Read original materials and rewrite into Chinese or English preserving style and meaning.
• Ensure translations are precise and consistent with firm style.
• Use dictionaries and references to find closest terminology.
• Research legal and technical phraseology for accuracy.
• Proofread and edit final translated documents.
• Provide grammatically correct, well-expressed final versions, usually as Word documents.
• Use internet and email as research tools.
• Communicate with stakeholders at all levels; be a team player.
