Job summary

ADECCO is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain firmware for battery-powered IoT devices. You will work on low-power MCU embedded software, perform testing, debugging, and documentation, and ensure hardware-software integration with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Required qualifications include a 2+ year track record in embedded firmware, experience with LoRaWAN, BLE, Wi‑Fi and LTE, and strong English/Chinese communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in low-power MCU embedded software/firmware development.
• Solid experience with wireless communication technologies and protocols, including LoRaWAN, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, and LTE.
• Proven experience collaborating with external vendors, partners, or development teams on mobile application and cloud platform integration projects.
• Good understanding of electronic hardware design, schematics, and hardware-software integration.
• Experience in smart sensing, IoT, or sensor-based technologies is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex embedded systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain firmware for existing IoT products, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Perform software testing, validation, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with industry best practices and coding standards.
• Investigate and resolve software defects across development, testing, and production environments to ensure stable product performance.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, test reports, and deployment procedures.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
• Participate in product design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for product quality and development processes.
• Support product releases, firmware upgrades, and post-deployment issue resolution to enhance customer experience and product reliability.
