Job description

Tool & Die Maker

2nd Shift (3:00PM – 11:45PM)

To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:

  1. Plan the setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speed.
  2. Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Uses hand tools of the trade.
  3. Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Set up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same.

This hourly role is a part of our plant Tool & Die team and reports to the Tool & Die Supervisor.

Required experience:

  1. High degree of precision and control in work where damage could be high and where muscular control and delicate touch are required.
  2. High degree of attention and care required, preventing injury to self and others when operating machine tools.
  3. Completion of formal apprenticeship program with journeyman card or equivalent to 8 years’ experience.
