Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field; MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in strategy, transformation, management consulting or portfolio management.
  • Experience within insurance, reinsurance, wealth management or financial services.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives in a matrixed organisation.
  • Strong planning, governance and value-realisation capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CSTO and Wealth Executive Committee in developing and refining the long-term Wealth strategy.
  • Lead strategic planning, budgeting, and transformation roadmaps translating priorities into actionable plans.
  • Govern the Wealth strategic initiative portfolio from business case development through execution and benefits realization.
  • Drive HNW/UHNW strategy across HK, Singapore and other markets, ensuring regulatory and governance alignment.
  • Mobilise cross-functional teams and promote agile, outcomes-based execution.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Strategy, Actuarial Science or related discipline
MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

We pledge to make Prudential a place where you can Connect, Grow, and Succeed.The Director, Strategy and Transformation will report directly to the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer (“CSTO”), Group Wealth, and will support the development and execution of Prudential Wealth’s enterprise strategy across the Group.The role will lead strategic planning, transformation portfolio governance and value realization across Wealth, ensuring that strategic priorities are translated into executable initiatives with clear ownership, milestones and outcomes. Working closely with senior leaders across Distribution, Product, Finance, Operations, Technology, Risk and Local Business Units (“LBUs”), the Director will drive alignment and execution across complex, cross-functional initiatives.The role will also support the CSTO in shaping strategies relevant to High Net Worth (“HNW”) and Ultra High Net Worth (“UHNW”) businesses, including international distribution, Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance structures, capital-efficient growth and the execution of Wealth strategies across Hong Kong, Singapore and other participating markets.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy Development and PlanningSupport the CSTO and Wealth Executive Committee in developing and refining the long-term Wealth strategy.Lead strategic planning, business planning, budgeting, ACR management processes and translate Group and Wealth priorities into actionable plans and transformation roadmaps.Assess growth opportunities across customer segments, products, services, markets, and distribution channels.Lead market, competitor, and industry analysis to identify emerging opportunities and strategic risks and assess their implications for the business.Prepare decision papers, strategic analyses, and executive-level materials and Board updates and papers for management and Board discussions.Strategy Execution and Portfolio GovernanceLead governance of the Wealth strategic initiative portfolio from business case development through execution and benefits realization.Establish clear priorities, accountabilities, milestones, and performance measures for strategic initiatives.Review and challenge initiative plans to ensure alignment with strategic, commercial, and financial objectives.Identify portfolio dependencies, delivery risks and resource constraints, and coordinate timely intervention.Support investment prioritization and funding decisions across competing strategic initiatives.Stay abreast of regulatory developments, macroeconomic trends, and market outlooks to shape wealth management strategy.Value Realization and Performance ManagementEstablish frameworks to assess the financial and non-financial value of strategic investments.Review and challenge business case assumptions, benefits, costs and implementation requirements.Track performance against committed outcomes and drive accountability among initiative owners.Identify underperformance and recommend corrective action, reprioritization or escalation.Partner with Finance and business teams to maintain a consolidated view of strategic performance.HNW and Bermuda StrategyDrive development of strategies for HNW and UHNW customers, products, and distribution models.Assess the strategic implications of Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance structures.Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Investments, Risk and Reinsurance to evaluate capital, liquidity and risk transfer considerations.Drive execution of the Group Wealth strategy across Hong Kong, Singapore and other participating LBUs.Ensure strategic proposals reflect relevant regulatory, tax, governance, and operating model considerations.Transformation and Cross-functional ExecutionMobilise cross-functional teams to translate strategic priorities into executable transformation roadmaps.Facilitate resolution of issues and dependencies across Wealth, LBUs and Group functions such as Customer & Marketing, Finance & Actuarial, Risk & Compliance and Legal.Drive pace, transparency and execution discipline across major change initiatives.Ensure operating model, technology, process and organisational implications are considered in transformation planning.Promote agile and outcome-focused approaches to strategy execution.Executive Advisory and Stakeholder ManagementBuild effective partnerships across Group functions including GTO, GEC, Board, LBUs, and external advisers.Communicate strategic priorities and implications across the business to build alignment, understanding and organisational buy-in.Facilitate senior stakeholder discussions and drive alignment on complex or sensitive topics.Represent the Strategy and Transformation Office in selected governance and working forums.Team and Capability DevelopmentSupport the CSTO in building a high-performing Strategy and Transformation function.Provide direction, coaching, and quality assurance to team members and project resources.Develop common strategy, portfolio management, and value-realisation methodologies.Promote knowledge sharing and strategic capability building across Wealth.Foster a culture of analytical rigour, collaboration, and accountability.Requirements and QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Strategy, Actuarial Science or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.12+ years of experience in strategy, transformation, management consulting or portfolio management.Significant experience within insurance, reinsurance, wealth management or broader financial services.Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional strategic or transformation initiatives, including developing business strategies and business cases.Experience influencing senior executives and operating effectively across a matrixed organisation.Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams or multidisciplinary project resources, including coaching and quality assuranceStrong working knowledge of strategic-planning cycles, portfolio-governance frameworks and value-realisation methodologiesStrong commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to assess value creation and investment returns.Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.Prudential is an equal opportunity employer.
