Job summary

1201 UOB Hong Kong is seeking a highly experienced Director-level Credit Trader to join our Global Markets team. You will manage a credit trading book, execute trades, and generate revenue through market analysis and risk management across the APAC region.

Responsibilities include trading corporate bonds and derivatives, developing strategies to optimize P&L, conducting credit research, and providing market insights to clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field; Master's or CFA preferred.
• 5–10 years of direct credit trading experience in an investment bank or financial institution.
• Proven profitability and strong risk management in credit trading.
• Extensive knowledge of credit products, market structures, and trading strategies.
• Strong analytical, quantitative skills and ability to solve complex problems.
• Excellent communication and client-relations skills.
• Proficiency in market data platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon) and trading systems.
• HKMA Type 1 and 4 licensed; TMA membership and ECF on Treasury Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and actively trade a portfolio of credit products, including corporate bonds and derivatives across sectors and geographies.
• Develop and execute trading strategies to optimize P&L, managing market and liquidity risk.
• Conduct thorough credit research and analysis on corporate issuers, sectors, and market trends.
• Provide market commentary and insights to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, counterparties, and internal sales teams.
• Ensure trading activities adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk limits.
• Collaborate with other Global Markets desks, research teams, and risk management functions.
• Contribute to development and implementation of new trading tools and market access initiatives.
