Job summary

Hong Kong Digital Asset Ex Limited is seeking a seasoned DevOps/Platform Engineer to oversee daily operations of high-frequency trading systems in AWS, ensuring low latency and high availability. You will design secure CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and implement comprehensive monitoring and logging across applications, OS, network, and hardware.

Job description

Production Environment Assurance: Oversee daily operation, monitoring, incident response, and performance tuning of high‑frequency trading systems in AWS production, ensuring low‑latency and high‑availability SLAs are met.

Automated Deployment & Release: Design and maintain robust, secure CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, zero‑downtime / low‑risk rolling deployments of trading strategies and system components.

Monitoring & Observability: Build and optimize comprehensive monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing systems covering all levels—application, OS, network, and hardware—enabling second‑level problem detection and diagnosis.

Performance & Cost Optimization: Continuously analyze system bottlenecks (network latency, compute resources, storage I/O) and implement optimization solutions. Manage cloud resources with precision to balance performance and cost efficiency.

Disaster Recovery & Security: Design and regularly execute disaster recovery drills to ensure rapid trading system recovery. Enforce strict security policies, manage keys, network ACLs, and security groups to safeguard the platform.

Infrastructure as Code: Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to manage and version all cloud infrastructure as code.

Cross‑Team Collaboration: Serve as the bridge between quantitative development and core trading systems, providing operational insights and assisting in troubleshooting live strategy execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in DevOps, operations, or software development.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services, including designing and deploying high‑performance, scalable, and secure network and system architectures. Proficiency in AWS EC2, RDS, ELB, and related services is required.
• Deep understanding of DevOps principles, practices, and tools, with a proven track record of building and scaling DevOps systems from the ground up.
• Proficiency in DevOps tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, Jira, Jenkins, and Nexus, with experience in automating CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong scripting skills in Jenkins Pipeline, along with programming knowledge in Java and Golang.
• Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, with experience in managing containerized environments at scale.
• Familiarity with open‑source technologies such as Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch (ES), and message queues (MQ), along with advanced SQL optimization skills for MySQL.
• Experience with gray release strategies and related technologies, with a preference for candidates who have implemented gray releases in production environments.
• Background in agile development methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous delivery, with experience in developing, testing, or maintaining related tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications (not a must)

• Certifications in AWS or DevOps‑related fields.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
