Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking a testing-focused professional for the Derivative Trading Operations unit. The role centers on validating new initiatives, products, and system enhancements to ensure market readiness and regulatory compliance.

You will analyse requirements, develop and execute test plans, and work with IT and business teams to resolve issues, ensuring smooth end-to-end operation across derivative markets in Hong Kong.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Statistics, Information Technology or related; fresh graduates welcome.
• Knowledge of derivatives products and trading platform preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation with IT teams, users and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; Putonghua an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of testing tools, Power BI, SQL, VBA, Python or other automation tools an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support new business initiatives, new products, system and infrastructure enhancements, market microstructure improvements and other ad-hoc assignments as required;
• Analyse technical and operational system requirements and prepare testing documentation, including test plans, test conditions and test cases for system acceptance;
• Execute testing cycles under tight timelines, verify test results and document outcomes clearly and accurately;
• Participate in issue investigation, defect tracking and resolution follow-up for issues identified during testing;
• Work closely with cross-functional testing teams to validate end-to-end system, operational and technical readiness;
• Assist in identifying, investigating and resolving testing conflicts, gaps or dependencies across systems and workstreams.

Requirements:

• University degree, preferably in Finance, Statistics, Information Technology or a related discipline; fresh graduates are welcome;
• Sound knowledge of the derivatives products, market practices and the trading platform is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Good communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with IT teams, users and cross-functional stakeholders;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage;
• Proficiency in MS Office is required; knowledge of testing tools, Power BI, SQL, VBA, Python or other automation tools is an advantage.
