Job summary

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, IT or related disciplines.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in financial markets or derivatives operations.
• Sound knowledge of derivatives products, market practices, trading operations, and procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work under time-critical situations.

Responsibilities

• Execute Morning Shift trading operations and assist the Morning Shift Team Lead in overseeing daily activities.
• Manage operational risks, exceptional cases and contingency arrangements during live market operations.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, exchange rules and procedures.
• Maintain timely communication with Exchange Participants and internal/external stakeholders.
• Coordinate projects, system enhancements, new product implementations, rule reviews and testing.
• Drive workflow automation and process improvements.
• Maintain operating procedures and management reports; guide junior team members.

Job Summary

The Derivative Trading Operations team operates the regions’ premier derivative markets with expanding global reach. Our team comprises of highly trained individuals with deep knowledge of the working of financial markets as well as rules and regulations that protect the integrity of the market. We are looking forward to bringing in a high-calibre professionals to manage the operations for the trading of futures and options on various underlying assets or indices such as equity indices, equities, currency, interest rate and commodities products, and developing the rules and policies for derivatives market trading. The candidate will also operate and monitor the derivatives trading system and operations, and ensures that the trading environment is transparent, fair, orderly and efficient according to the relevant rules and regulations established by the exchange. The candidate will be expected to provide leadership and oversight on various key initiatives with responsibility spanning across strategy execution and project implementation. Job Duties

Responsibilities:

• Execute Morning Shift trading operations and assist the Morning Shift Team Lead in overseeing daily team activities, including market open preparation, trading session monitoring, issue handling and escalation
• Manage operational risks, exceptional cases and contingency arrangements during live market operations
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, Exchange rules and operational procedures
• Maintain timely communication with Exchange Participants, internal departments and external stakeholders as part of the Derivatives Market command centre
• Coordinate projects, system enhancements, new product implementation, rule and procedure reviews, user requirements and user acceptance testing
• Drive workflow automation, process improvement and control enhancement initiatives
• Maintain operating procedures, management reports and operational documentation, and provide guidance to junior team members as required

Requirements

• University degree holder, preferably in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology or related disciplines
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in financial markets, exchange operations, trading operations, derivatives or related areas
• Sound knowledge of derivatives products, market practices, trading operations, trading platforms, rules and procedures
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment under time-critical situations
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
• proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage
• Proficient in MS Office
• knowledge of PowerBI, SQL, VBA, Python or other automation tools would be an advantage
• Shift duties are required
• prior shift experience is an advantage
