Job summary

Walker Lovell Ltd. invites an experienced banking and finance associate to broaden exposure across Asia-Pacific, spanning diverse debt financing matters and cross-border transactions.

You will join an established team to handle complex lending, syndicated facilities, and structured financing while developing English-law documentation skills. Hong Kong-based role with opportunities across jurisdictions and clients.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years' PQE on the Hong Kong/UK scale with strong general banking and finance experience.
• High-quality training within a recognised banking, finance or debt finance practice.
• Strong transactional experience across lending and financing matters.
• Sound technical foundations and the ability to operate effectively at an experienced associate level.
• Experience across more than one financing product or transaction type would be advantageous.
• Chinese language capability is beneficial, although not essential.

Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of banking and debt finance transactions across Asia-Pacific.
• Work on complex bilateral and syndicated lending, acquisition and leveraged finance, corporate lending, refinancings and other financing matters.
• Draft and negotiate facility agreements, security documents, guarantees and related finance documentation.
• Work with international and regional banks, financial institutions, private capital providers and corporate clients.
• Develop further experience across English-law documentation and complex cross-border financing structures.
• Work closely with four partners across the wider finance group.

You're an experienced banking and finance lawyer with strong general banking foundations who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a sophisticated international practice.

Your current title might be Banking & Finance Associate, Banking Associate, Finance Associate or Debt Finance Associate. More important than the label is the strength and breadth of your underlying banking and lending experience.
