Job description

Responsibilities

• Provide DB management, installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, optimization, backup & recovery
• Support routine or ad-hoc database maintenance work in production and testing environment, e.g. database restoration, database changes request, administrate related tools for reporting
• Develop, establish and review standards, procedures and configuration documents in the responsible areas
• Conduct monthly audit reports and daily health check
• Perform configuration, system administration related tasks
• Work with end users and different stakeholders on requirements, design and specifications
• Timely submit reports and report progress regularly to management on problems, incidents and assigned tasks and projects
• Maintain an updated inventory for the Database products and manage the product life cycle.
• Oversee database, replication and failover

Job Requirements

• Degree in IT/Engineering or related disciplines with 2 to 4 years relevant experience
• Minimum 2 years solid experience in at least one of the following technical skill - DB2 (urgent need), MySQL Database, MSSQL, Oracle
• Holder of DB2 Associate/Administrator certification is preferred
• Hands‑on experience in database installation, backup & recovery, performance monitoring & tuning
• Knowledge in database HA/DR solutions (pureScale/High Availability Disaster Recovery/Log Shipping) is an advantage
• A team player with analytical and problem solving mind, self‑motivation, good interpersonal skills
• Effective verbal and written communication in English and Chinese. Good communication skill on Putonghua is an advantage Candidate with more experience will be considered as Senior Database Administrator
