Job summary

We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer for a leading financial institution in Hong Kong. You will design, build, and maintain a data platform using Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker to support scalable data architectures and data lakes.

You will help automate end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT), run PoCs for new tools, and operate in hybrid-cloud environments. Strong English and Chinese communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in data platform engineering.
• Proficiency in Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Kubernetes (K8s), and Docker.
• Experience in hybrid-cloud or enterprise data environments.
• Exposure to Financial Services sector is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain Data Platform using technologies such as Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Kubernetes (K8s), and Docker

Support scalable data architectures, including data lakes, enterprise data marketplaces, and virtualisation solutions

Assist in building, automating, and optimizing end-to-end data processing pipelines (ETL/ELT)

Conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) testing for emerging platform tools and alternative data technologies.

Requirements:

University degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline

At least 3 years of relevant experience in data platform engineering

Proficiency in Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Kubernetes (K8s), and Docker

Exposure in Financial Services sector will be an advantage

Experience operating within hybrid-cloud or enterprise data environments

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Fluent in English and Chinese
