Job summary

Hitachi Rail Hong Kong Limited offers a 6-month internship with the Research Technology and Innovation Team in Hong Kong. You will assist prototype and software development focused on data preparation and ML applications, working with time series data from fare collection and supervision systems.

You will build prototypes, validate results, document findings, and help productionize code in Docker containers, contributing to release planning, testing, and quality control.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Data Analytics, Big Data, ML, applied mathematics or statistics.
• Strong Python skills and experience with Pandas and NumPy.
• Experience with SQL databases and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with Git and Docker; Linux command line experience.
• Knowledge of ML libraries such as scikit-learn or Keras preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and industrialize software; validate results and document findings.
• Develop tests and produce production-ready code.
• Deliver software releases and support system integration.
• Contribute to system and software documentation.
