Our client is a premium, high-stakes poker media and entertainment brand founded by a Hong Kong-based entrepreneur and internationally famous poker champion. We blend cinematic production values with the drama of the world's biggest games to build a new content universe for poker fans worldwide. As we grow across content, product, and licensing, we're building the operational backbone to match - including a more organized, proactive approach to contracts, corporate documentation, and the legal questions that shape how we produce and promote our content.
This is an opportunity to build a legal-operations function from the ground up, working closely with founders and outside counsel across a fast-moving, multi-entity business.
The Role
We're looking for a Corporate Paralegal to cover two connected areas. The first is our contracts and corporate documentation - drafting from templates, tracking signatures and versions, and coordinating with outside counsel so our legal processes keep pace with the business. The second is applied legal research: working out the legal implications of operational decisions before we commit to them, from production and shoot locations to marketing and communications output, so the team understands where the boundaries are and stays comfortably inside them.
What You'll Do
- Draft, format, and manage commercial agreements, NDAs, IP assignment documents, and contributor/services agreements from established templates.
- Track contract status end to end - drafting, redlines, signatures, renewals, and filing - across multiple entities and counterparties.
- Maintain corporate records and statutory documentation (company registers, resolutions, filings) in coordination with company secretarial providers.
- Liaise with outside counsel in Hong Kong and, where relevant, PRC-based counsel or manufacturing partners, to move matters forward efficiently.
- Organize and maintain a clean, searchable repository of executed agreements and supporting documentation.
- Research the legal implications of operational and creative decisions - production and shoot locations and their permit requirements, press and social media content, promotional and marketing activity, and other areas likely to attract scrutiny.
- Translate that research into clear, practical guidance for non-lawyers: what is permitted, what the constraints are, and what needs outside counsel's review before proceeding.
- Build and maintain internal reference material - checklists and practical guidelines - so recurring questions are answered consistently rather than researched from scratch each time.
- Flag legal or compliance issues that require outside counsel's attention - this role supports and organizes, it does not replace legal advice.
- Support due diligence, IP registration, and licensing-related paperwork as the business grows.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal or in legal operations, ideally with corporate/commercial contract exposure.
- Strong document and process organization skills - comfortable owning a high volume of agreements without things slipping.
- Practical drafting skills from templates and precedents; comfortable flagging (not resolving) legal risk for outside counsel.
- Solid legal research skills, and the ability to turn findings into concise, decision-ready summaries for commercial and creative colleagues rather than memoranda written for lawyers.
- Good instincts for where legal exposure arises in day-to-day operations - content and publicity, promotional claims, filming locations, third-party rights - and the discipline to elevate rather than guess.
- Fluent written English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin fluency strongly preferred.
- Based in Hong Kong, available for a hybrid working arrangement.
- Bonus: exposure to IP licensing, entertainment/talent agreements, or manufacturing and supply-chain contracts.
What We Offer
- The chance to build a legal-operations function from scratch for a fast-growing media and entertainment brand.
- Direct exposure to founders, outside counsel, and deal-making across content, product, and licensing.
- Genuine breadth: contract and corporate work alongside substantive research that shapes production, marketing, and commercial decisions.
- Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience.
