Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an Architectural Assistant to support Contract Architect on resident supervision, drawing coordination and document control for residential finishes, curtain walls, waterproofing and MiC finishes. You will accompany overseas MiC factory visits, take measurements, record defects, and help compile audit records and test reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Higher Diploma in Architecture; HKIA student member is an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit Architecture & MS Office; capable of preparing architectural details and technical reports independently.
• Level 2 Chinese & English in HKDSE; fluent Cantonese; able to draft bilingual inspection & factory audit records.

Job description

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”.

Job Duties

• Fully support Contract Architect (CntA) on all architectural resident supervision, drawing coordination and document control works covering residential finishes, communal areas, curtain wall, waterproofing and internal/external MiC modular finishes.
• Accompany CntA on regular overseas MiC factory visits to assist architectural audit: take modular dimension measurements, record finishing defects, capture factory photos, compile draft MiC watertight & airtightness test records and factory audit reports.
• Manage filing, version control, scanning & archiving of full architectural drawing sets; prepare minor coordination sketches, split MiC modular diagrams and mock-up detail drawings.
• Administer documentation for architectural materials, finishes, curtain wall and MiC internal mock-ups; log mock-up submission, track factory mock-up fabrication and compile acceptance records.
• Assist to draft architectural method statements, test logs, daily inspection diaries, monthly progress data and snag lists for site & MiC factory.
• Attend architectural interface coordination meetings & MiC factory technical production meetings, take meeting minutes, circulate records and track action items.
• Support witnessing waterproof, airtightness and curtain wall tests on site and at factory; file all test certificates & material mill certificates systematically.
• Track architectural variation orders, update sub-contractor drawing schedules and revision logs for MiC fabrication drawings.
• Collate as-built architectural drawings, architectural sections of O&M manuals and full MiC factory completion certificates for project handover.
• Liaise with building sub-contractors, consultant clerks and factory admin staff for drawing circulation, correspondence registration and general architectural technical enquiries.

Requirements

• Bachelor / Higher Diploma in Architecture from IVE, HK Polytechnic or recognised tertiary institute; HKIA student member is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience as architectural assistant on Hong Kong government / public housing sites; prior experience supporting MiC factory inspection is highly preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit Architecture & MS Office; capable of preparing architectural details and technical reports independently.
• Level 2 Chinese & English in HKDSE, fluent Cantonese, able to draft simple bilingual inspection & factory audit records.
• Holder of Construction Green Safety Card, willing to attend further safety training.
• Available for overtime, night tests and regular overseas MiC factory visits to support audit works.
