Job summary

InfoTech Services (Hong Kong) Limited has a contract role for a Java/J2EE professional to support a Transport Department web-based system. The position requires hands-on development, testing, and coordination with users and contractors in a government setting.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of relevant government project experience, strong SQL and web programming skills (React.js), and familiarity with cloud and virtualization technologies.

Qualifications

• Require 3+ years total post-qualification IT experience with at least 1 year in a similar government role.
• Experience delivering web-based applications and liaising with users, contractors and operators.
• Hands-on with Java EE development and modern web frameworks including React.js.
• Experience with cloud services, virtualization, storage, networking and security is an advantage.
• Good teamwork and communication skills; capable of project briefs and vendor evaluations.

• Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the TD;
• To monitor the performance of external contractor for providing on-going support services and system enhancement service

Requirements

• Support system implementation for delivering new/enhanced applications/e-services and liaise with parties concerned (include users, contractors, computer operators, etc.) on requirements gathering, implementation, acceptance testing, program/system testing and on-going activities support.
• Possess experience and skills in web programming and support of IT web application systems using Enterprise Java application and modern web framework (i.e. react.js) etc.
• Prepare and issue assignment brief for project implementation/enhancement and evaluation of proposal from vendors as well as perform quality review on the deliverables submitted by contractors.
• Possess of knowledge, experience and skills in implementation and support of applications using public or private cloud services including virtualization, SAN/object storage, networking, database, security, container, etc.
• Possess of knowledge and experience in implementing and/or utilising centralised system and networking monitoring, and/or centralised log management and analytics is an advantage.
• Be a good team player with competent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Technical Skills:
  • . At least 2 years' experience in J2EE Development (JDE);
  • . At least 1 year's experience in Production Database Support (PDS);
  • . At least 1 year's experience in Structured Query Language (SQL);
  • . At least 1 year's experience in Web 2.0 Services (W2S);
  • . At least 1 year's experience in Web Programming (WEB);
  • . 1 year's experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT) is an advantage.
• Non-technical Skills:
  • . At least 2 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
  • . 1 year's experience in managing Government projects (MGP) is an advantage;
  • . 1 year's experience in IT service/outsourcing management (OUT) is an advantage.
• - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
• - At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
