Job summary

Sang Hing Civil Contractors Co. Ltd. invites applications for a senior role overseeing Road & Drainage and Site Formation civil projects.

The role focuses on delivering projects within budget and schedule while maintaining quality and safety standards. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, liaise with clients and authorities, and ensure compliance with contract requirements. Eligible candidates should possess degree in civil fields, professional membership, and extensive project management

Qualifications

• Degree in civil/structural engineering, construction management, building studies, or equivalent.
• Possession of professional membership in relevant building/civil/structural engineering or construction management bodies.
• 15+ years' experience managing full operations of civil or building projects, with large-scale exposure.
• Strong leadership, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Good command of English and Chinese (including Mandarin).
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for Assistant Project Manager or other roles.

Responsibilities

• Complete projects within budget and manage cost plan and resources.
• Ensure on-time completion with master programme and progress monitoring.
• Ensure quality by procurement, workmanship control, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Enforce safety on site according to regulations.
• Develop and maintain client and stakeholder relationships.
• Assist in tendering and obtaining new jobs.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Job description

A Cat.C “Road & Drainage” and “Site Formation” Civil Engineering Main Contractor has the following immediate vacancies:

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the assigned project is completed within budgeted cost and meets or exceeds the profit margin by :

  • building up cost plan for Director's approval;

  • deploying resources according to the agreed budget;

  • identifying areas/items for possible savings;

  • monitoring on critical issues and implementing effective remedial actions;

  • monitoring closely work done/variation for prompt submission payment claims.

• Ensure the assigned project is completed on time by :

  • preparing master programme/progress schedule for Director's approval;

  • organizing building activities according to it;

  • monitoring project progress;

  • proposing and implementing remedial actions.

• Ensure the assigned project is completed at the specified quality standard by :

  • organizing the procurement of materials and monitoring workmanship according to contract requirements;

  • monitoring process control, equipment calibration, inspection and testing, record of quality problems and devising and implementing remedial actions for discrepancies.

  • implementing and monitoring quality related systems & procedures.

• Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety disciplines according to the government regulations and company guidelines on site safety.

• Ensure the effective deployment and development of human resources in the assigned project by proper selection, placement, training and development of the team members.

• Develop and maintain good working relationship with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other professionals as well as government departments and utilities companies to ensure smooth running of the project and enhance company reputation.

• Assist in obtaining new jobs for the company by participating actively in the tendering stage.

• Ensure all assigned responsibilities relating to quality are carried out in accordance with the Company quality procedures.

• Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the management of Company.

Requirements

• Degree Holder in Civil /Structural Engineering / Construction Management / Building Studies / Building Services, or Equivalent.

• Possession of professional membership in Building / Civil / Structural Engineering / Construction Management.

• At least 15 years' practical experience in managing full operation of various kind of civil or building construction projects, with proven experience in construction or project management with relevant exposure in large-scale civil or building projects in the private/public sector.

• Strong leadership, problem solving and decision making skill.

• Excellent project management and communication skill.

• Good command in both English and Chinese (including Mandarin).

• Candidate with less experience may be considered for Assistant Project Manager or other position within the organization.
