2WA OPERATIONS LIMITED is recruiting a Compliance Manager to own the compliance framework for ongoing fund-related and trading operations. The role involves establishing and operating a practical compliance programme suitable for live operations, working closely with the Head of Legal. You will ensure day-to-day activities, trading workflows, and external materials remain within the approved legal and policy perimeter.
Key responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and operate compliance policies, registers, incident handling, and staff training.
- Oversee AML, KYC, and sanctions processes for relevant investors, counterparties, and operational workflows; maintain audit-ready records.
- Implement trading-related controls where orders are placed with licensed institutions, including authority matrices, personal account dealing, conflicts of interest, exception logging, and broker or platform oversight documentation.
- Review fundraising and external communications against approved language and escalation rules.
- Coordinate control interfaces with licensed partners and platforms, including responsibility matrices and evidence packs, without representing that the Company itself holds those licences.
- Prepare compliance management information for leadership and support information requests from partners, auditors, or competent authorities as directed.
- Support licence-readiness workstreams with Legal when required, including gap analysis and evidence organisation.
- Act as the primary day-to-day escalation point for compliance queries.
About you
- Demonstrable compliance experience in funds, asset management, brokerage, banking, virtual assets, or fintech.
- Hands-on delivery of AML and KYC processes and the translation of policy into operating controls.
- Familiarity with markets or trading-related controls, or a clear ability to ramp from adjacent compliance experience.
- Evidence of owning a compliance workstream end to end, not solely supporting a larger team.
- Strong written English; Chinese is an advantage.
- Sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to decline requests with a clear rationale and alternative path.
- Right to work in Hong Kong.
- Preferred: Experience in a regulated entity environment, or supporting a licence application pack.
- Preferred: Exposure to personal account dealing, financial promotions or marketing review, or trade and order exception monitoring.
- Preferred: Prior coordination with external counsel, auditors, or compliance teams at licensed brokers or platforms.
- Preferred: Experience building or scaling a compliance function in a small or growing organisation.
