i-Call International is expanding its interpreter team and is seeking qualified Medical Consecutive Interpreters fluent in English and Cantonese. You will interpret medical conversations between patients and healthcare professionals with accuracy and professionalism.

Ideal candidates have medical terminology knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in real-time settings.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Cantonese with medical interpretation ability.
• Previous experience in medical interpretation or translation preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare environments.
• Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in real-time medical settings.
• USB headset mandatory; LAN Ethernet connection required.

Job description

As a Medical Consecutive Interpreter, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate clear, accurate, and professional communication between healthcare providers and patients with limited English proficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately interpret medical conversations, including diagnoses, symptoms, treatments, and procedures between patients and healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, and clinical staff)
• Assist patients in understanding healthcare processes and help providers navigate cultural nuances that may impact patient care
• Strictly maintain patient confidentiality and comply with professional medical interpretation ethics and standards
• Record interpretation details such as date, time, duration, and type of service provided
• Stay up to date with medical terminology, healthcare practices, and interpretation standards to ensure high-quality service delivery

About you

• Fluency in English and Cantonese
• Previous experience in medical interpretation or translation is preferred
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare environments
• Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivityAbility to work efficiently under pressure in real-time medical settings

• PC or Laptop: Core i5 (6th generation or higher) with minimum 8GB RAM
