Standard Chartered in Hong Kong seeks a Markets business professional to support the Markets Country Manager and Markets Country Head. You will manage local strategy execution, coordinate with support functions, and monitor regulatory changes impacting processes and infrastructure.

You will also contribute to dealing room management, budgeting, and cost-control while driving efficiency and adherence to governance standards in-country.

Competenze

• Finance or banking background preferred.
• Accounting/FRM qualifications preferable but not mandatory.
• English and Mandarin languages understood and written.

Job Summary

• The role will support the Markets Country Business Manager (CBM) and the Markets Country Head in managing and running the Markets business in-country.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

• Execute and implement the local Markets strategy and business initiatives
• Execute and deliver the global Markets agenda locally

Business

• Partner with local support functions and stakeholders to unblock any business issues
• Keep up to date with local regulations to assess impact / business opportunities and manage any changes to business processes and infrastructure
• Provide business support on dealing room management (capacity planning, business continuity, access controls, SLAs, licensing, etc.)
• Business budgeting and forecasting where required
• Drive and manage a prudent cost culture

Processes

• Be the “connector” between global and local and export best practices
• Continuously seek out process simplification and re-engineering opportunities to improve operational efficiency
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and ensure submissions are made on a timely basis
• Ensure that submissions are accurate, complete, reconciled (where relevant), and meet regulatory requirements

People & Talent

• Operate effective supervision of Markets, Banking, Treasury Markets and CMPS staff in the dealing room, where applicable

Risk Management

• Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks in-country
• Execute controls, monitor, report and elevate operational risks where appropriate in-country
• Ensure dealing room staff adhere to internal and external processes, procedures and governance standards set by the Markets Process Governance Committees
• Support the Markets Country Head in supervising and coordinating in-country audits

Governance

• Support the Markets Country Head in running the Business Risk Forums (BRFs)

Regulatory & Business Conduct

• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
