Job summary

The University of Hong Kong's Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) invites applications for a Technical Officer/Senior Technical Assistant in its Biobank Core. The role supports sample processing, equipment maintenance and data management in LIMS, coordinating service logistics with users.

Two-year fixed-term appointment with a competitive salary and benefits, including annual leave, medical benefits and opportunities for continuing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline
• Strong passion for science and technologies
• Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, meticulous; and enjoy teamwork
• Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Prior experience in processing clinical samples would be an advantage
• Proficiency in using microtome and cryostat for FFPE, and frozen tissue sectioning and embedding would be an advantage
• Candidates with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment as Technical Officer

Responsibilities

• Support core services for sample processing and equipment maintenance
• Support data management in the Biobank Core using LIMS
• Liaise with users to coordinate service logistics
