Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a Vice-President, Business Group Information Security Officer (BG CISO) to lead security strategy and risk management for the Business Group. You will partner with business and enterprise security to drive resilience, cyber risk governance and informed decision-making at the executive level.

You will oversee security integration in transformations, cloud and digital initiatives, lead incident readiness, and champion a secure-by-design culture across a global matrix

Qualifications

• University degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Technology, Risk Management, Business, or related discipline.
• Security certifications preferred (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, or equivalent).
• 15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity or technology risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic security leadership and vision for the Business Group.
• Define and drive security strategy aligned to enterprise priorities and objectives.
• Integrate security into business strategy, transformations and digital initiatives.
• Report significant risk changes to leadership and governance forums.
• Challenge material cyber, technology, resilience and security risks with governance.
• Deliver insights to enable executive decision-making and risk trade-offs.
• Influence long-term security investment and resource allocation.
• Lead security governance activities and represent Security in governance forums.
• Oversee cyber risk posture, third-party risk, and audit remediation.
• Coordinate incident preparedness, crisis management, and resilience actions.
• Foster security culture and executive leadership across the Business Group.
