Job summary

Binance is seeking a Backend Architect for the Pay&Card team to architect and build card-related systems end to end. You will work with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and compliant infrastructure supporting card issuance and lifecycle management.

The role requires 8+ years of backend engineering expertise, strong Java/Spring skills, and direct experience with card systems and certification processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining card systems.
• Knowledge of card certification processes and payment network standards.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain backend systems for card issuing and lifecycle management.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of card onboarding programs (Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
• Define system architecture, service boundaries, and integration patterns for card platform services.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance with payment network standards.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specs.
• Establish engineering best practices, code quality, and technical documentation; contribute hands-on as a builder.
