Job summary

Aussie Meat is seeking an accounting professional to support its eCommerce (Shopify) retail operations from Hong Kong. You will manage daily accounting transactions, reconcile accounts in Xero, and prepare financial statements.

The role covers AP management, inventory valuation, and collaboration with management and service providers. A hybrid work setup with regular Sheung Wan visits is expected, with a performance bonus and staff product allowances.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in eCommerce (Shopify) preferred.
• Experience with Xero or similar accounting platforms.
• Experience with Balance Sheet and P&L input and reporting.
• Experience with supplier financial cost control management.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to use AI tools and implement those tools.
• Understanding of financial digital tools, models, trends and best accounting practices.
• Strong business acumen with customer-focused, creative and analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese (verbal and written) and Chinese word processing.
• Based in Hong Kong with hybrid work from Sheung Wan office.
• Must hold valid HK visa with HKID.

Responsibilities

• Check and review actions from finance emails and direct emails.
• Record business transactions in a systematic manner ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Reconcile Xero accounts by matching transactions.
• Update Accounts Payable balances and log invoices from suppliers.
• Maintain data for analysing supplier status and invoice accuracy.
• Schedule online meetings with management to discuss financial matters.
• Communicate with service providers to resolve financial issues.
• Attend team meetings at the Sheung Wan office during working hours.
• Provide backup support for order processing and supply orders.
• Assist with company secretary duties and filing with the IRD and CR.

An accounting professional role supporting eCommerce (Shopify) retail operations. You will manage daily accounting transactions, reconciliation, and financial reporting using Xero, with responsibilities spanning daily, monthly, and annual financial tasks including inventory valuation audits, financial statement preparation, and direct communication with management and service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Check and review actions and perform activities arising from finance email account and any direct emails
• Record business transactions in a systematic manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulation
• Reconciliation of Xero Accounts by matching transactions to ensure accuracy
• Update Accounts Payable Outstanding Balances by tracking outstanding payments to suppliers and creditors, including downloading and logging invoices
• Maintain proper data for analysing supplier status and invoice data accuracy
• Schedule online meetings to discuss financial matters, answer queries management may have, and provide advice on financial decisions and accounting practices
• Direct Communication with Service Providers for financial issues to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution
• Regular half day visits to Sheung Wan Office during working hours to attend team meetings and directly communicate with team
• Provide backup support for order processing and supply orders
• Assist with company secretary duties by ensuring all necessary documents are filed with the IRD and CR

About you

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in accounting
• Experience in eCommerce (Shopify) is preferred
• Experience with Xero or similar accounting platform management
• Experience with Balance Sheet and P&L input and reporting
• Experience with supplier financial cost control management
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to use AI tools and implement those tools
• Good understanding of financial digital tools and models, technology trends and accounting best practice
• Strong business acumen with strong balance of positive customer journey, creativity and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese and Chinese word processing skill
• Proficiency of advanced usage of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Based in Hong Kong, Sheung Wan Office with ability to work remotely
• Must hold a valid working HK Visa with HKID
