Job description

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a highly motivated Associate Talent Manager to join our Associate Talent EMEA team. Ideally this role would be based in our Hong Kong office.

Associate Talent – Key Responsibilities of this Position Include:
  • Collaborates with Chief Legal Talent Officer and Senior Manager of Associate Talent (EMEA) to drive recruitment, retention, and development for top legal talent in Asia.
  • Conducts, analyzes, and shares Asia market research and intelligence with ATT leadership to inform, shape, and develop talent management strategies and priorities.
  • Prepares internal communications, reports, and presentations as needed for Associate Talent leadership on Asia industry trends, key performance indicators, and other relevant topics.
  • Partners with Senior Manager of Associate Talent to develop tailored strategies for all aspects of external Asia market and associate surveys and works closely with local office personnel to ensure effective execution.
  • Provides local Asia offices with guidance and recommendations on firm best practices for recruiting and other talent processes, protocols, and initiatives, with support and direction from Chief Associate Talent Officer and Senior Manager of Associate Talent as needed.
  • Oversees Asia end-to-end recruitment efforts in conjunction with applicable firm teams including support to trainee initiatives while also evaluating, recommending, and implementing areas of improvement to broader Asia recruiting strategy to streamline regional efforts in alignment with firm direction.
  • Supports and assists in facilitation of associate training with guidance from firm’s Director of Professional Development.
  • Supports and provides education on internal associate talent initiatives as needed, including firm’s enhanced mentoring program, attorney year-end evaluation and compensation process, Global and Local Committees on Associates, lateral associate integration offerings, amongst others.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and external vendors on social media content and other branding methods to elevate firm’s brand in the market.
  • Aids greater Associate Talent team (including Attorney Coaching, Attorney Recruiting, and Professional Development) as well as the firm’s Engagement team as appropriate to further advance the team’s objectives.
  • Provides direct supervisory oversight to direct reports as assigned.
  • Participates in local and firmwide associate programming and events/activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and ability to adapt to new software programs as needed.
  • Flexibility in regard to hours and willingness to travel as needed.
