Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking an Associate, Data Analytics in the Chief Data Office. The role supports planning and delivery of analytics projects to advance HKEX data strategy and the Enterprise Data Platform.

You will work with cross‑functional teams on data ingestion, modelling, governance, and visualization initiatives. The candidate will have a strong technical background in data technologies and solid project implementation skills to ensure timely, on‑budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics, IT development or project management.
• Good understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Solid technical background in data-related technologies such as data modelling and data visualization.

Job Summary: The Associate, Data Analytics in the Chief Data Office (CDO) of Information Technology Divisions supports the planning, coordination, delivery of data analytics projects to incrementally enable the HKEX data strategy and vision, and build out our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). Key duties span across various technical delivery and project implementation responsibilities in the data projects. The role applies technology skills in supporting capabilities like data ingestion, data modelling, data governance, data visualization and analytics toolset. The role requires a strong technical background in data technologies as well as good project implementation skills to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, meeting high-quality standards.

Job Duties

• Support Data Analyst in coordinating data analytics projects from project initiation to deployment.
• Collaborate with business partners to deliver data platform functionalities, prioritizing requirements based on business value and mitigation of data risks.
• Support data initiatives by tracking progress and risks against scope and schedule, in coordination with business and technology teams.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of data governance and data management capabilities across the enterprise data platform, including data access control, data lineage, data quality, and data analytics.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to support implementation and delivery activities on the data platform.
• Drive the implementation cloud and open-source capabilities to enable data management and data governance.
• Apply hybrid project management approaches, leveraging agile tools within SDLC phases.
• Coordinate with the data engineering function to ensure efficient use of technical tools and internal resources.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics, IT development or project management, preferably within large enterprises and the capital markets or financial services industry.
• Good understanding of SDLC disciplines and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Solid technical background with hands-on experience in data-related technologies, such as data modelling and data visualization.
• Understanding of enterprise data architecture concepts and modern data technology stacks.
• Proficient in JupyterHub or equivalent data science workbenches.
• Familiarity with native cloud technologies (e.g., Huawei,AWS, Azure, Alibaba) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with data security, data lineage and data management concepts.
• Exposure to tools, such as LDAP, OAuth, Keycloak and Open Metadata is an advantage.
• Familiarity with data management, data governance, and data quality standards.
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
• Agile, Scrum, PMP, PRINCE2, cloud, or data-related certification are advantageous.
