Job summary

Leadingnation invites applications for a senior role focused on regulatory reporting and financial disclosure in our Hong Kong branch. You will ensure MAS, HKMA reporting requirements are met and support management with accurate accounting insights.

The successful candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in bank accounting/reporting, and strong communication in Chinese and English to present findings to senior management. Familiarity with HKMA rules is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in bank accounting/reporting, HKMA rules preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check HKMA returns and surveys.
• Prepare head office reporting and local financial reporting.
• Prepare internal management reports.
• Handle other ad hoc reports.
• Interpret new regulatory rules and assess impact for senior management.
• Drive automation and data quality improvements.
• Participate in projects for regulatory changes.
• Undertake ad hoc projects assigned by supervisor.

Purpose of the role:

Ensure compliance with MAS, HKMA reporting requirements as well as disclosure notes.

What you will be doing:

Responsible for checking of

1. HKMA Returns and Surveys
2. Head Office reporting, local financial reporting and financial disclosure of the Bank
3. Internal management reports
4. Other ad hoc reports

• Interpret and assess new regulatory rules and disclosure requirements, and perform impact analysis to senior management
• Drive automation, system enhancement and data quality improvement
• Drive and participate in projects for new and changing regulatory requirements
• Drive and participate in ad hoc projects assigned by supervisor

Who are we looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory rules
• Over 5 years’ experience in bank accounting/reporting or equivalent especially in HKMA Rules & accounting standards
• Communication, interpersonal & presentation skills in both Chinese and English

• Strong team player, eager to learn and develop a finance career in banking
