Job summary

Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a meticulous Payments Operations professional to ensure quality and timely delivery of payment transactions. The role involves authorizing and monitoring transactions, reconciling suspense accounts, and investigating open items while ensuring adherence to bank policies.

The candidate will support hub governance, enforce controls, streamline workflows, and contribute to system enhancements through ad hoc projects and testing.

Qualifications

• Experience in payment operations and customer service.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international payment methods and settlement arrangements.
• Thorough understanding of payment systems functionality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality standards and delivery requirements of payment transactions processed by the team.
• Authorize and monitor payment transactions to ensure timeliness, efficiency and accuracy.
• Reconcile and monitor suspense accounts.
• Open item investigation and clearance
• Govern and monitor processing hubs to follow procedures and bank policy
• Enforce controls to ensure compliance with audit and security procedures
• Identify workflow improvements to boost efficiency
• Handle ad hoc projects, system enhancements, user requirements, and testing
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Job Responsibilities

To ensure the maintenance of quality standards and delivery requirements of the payment transactions processed by the team members

• Authorize and monitor payment transactions are executed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
• Suspense account reconciliation and monitoring.
• Open item investigation and clearance
• Govern and monitor processing hubs operate properly according to process procedures and Bank’s Policy
• Enforce proper control to ensure operations are in compliance with the established audit and securityprocedures.
• Contribute to increased efficiency by identifying opportunities for improvement of workflows and operating guideline.
• Handle ad hoc projects such as system enhancement, define user requirements, conduct user acceptance test etc.
• Handle ad-hoc duties as instructed

Job Requirements

• Sound knowledge of banking law and practices
• Experience in payment operations and customer service.
• In depth knowledge of local and international payment methods and settlement arrangements.

• Sound knowledge of foreign exchange, Agency Arrangement and relevant banking regulations.
• Knowledge of the business practice and standards of the Overseas Group offices and correspondents.
• Thorough understanding of the functionality of the payment systems.
• Good interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a good professional relationship with external and internal contacts.
• Excellent communication and interperonsal skills, including both spoken and written Cantonese and English
