Job summary

CLSA in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced risk professional to review counterparty risk, assess exposures from OTC transactions, and support credit term negotiations under master agreements (ISDA/GMRA/GMSLA).

The role demands strong credit risk knowledge, ability to assign internal ratings, prepare credit files and daily reports, and proficiency in Excel/Macro/SQL, with good English and Chinese language skills.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of relevant risk management experience in Brokerage / Financial institution.
• Master's degree in Finance, Business or related discipline.
• Knowledge of financial products (Equities, Futures & Options, OTC derivatives).
• Sound understanding of credit risk management.
• Experienced with credit review and write-ups.
• Proficient in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
• Proficient in Excel / Macro / SQL.
• A good team player, quick learner, self-motivated with strong sense of responsibility and discipline.

Responsibilities

• Review counterparty risk and keep counterparty risk under control.
• Review and assess credit exposures deriving from OTC transactions.
• Assist in review and negotiation of credit terms within Master agreements (ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA).
• Review and assign appropriate internal credit rating.
• Familiar with Prime Brokerage business and related risk models and calibration.
• Review DVP/FOP risk and ensure it remains well controlled.
• Review and assess credit exposures from Institution Equity business.
• Monitor for adverse news affecting credit quality; identify early risk signals.
• Prepare credit files and write ups; advise on credit limit approvals.
• Prepare daily credit reports and escalate issues to senior team as needed.
• Produce Risk Committee and Management reports.
• Review and update procedures; support ad-hoc requests from business.

Job description

• Review counterparty risk and keep counterparty risk is under the control
• Review and assess credit exposures deriving from OTC transactions
• Assist in review and negotiation of credit terms within Master agreements (i.e. ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA)
• Review and assign appropriate internal credit rating
• Familiar with Prime Brokerage business, especially on the model of rule base margining, Portfolio Stress, Model calibration and validation for linear and nonlinear products
• Review DVP/FOP risk and ensure DVP/FOP risk under well control
• Review and assess credit exposures deriving from Institution Equity business
• Familiar with Institution Equity business and perform regular monitoring for early risk identification
• Prepare credit files and write ups, review credit limit applications and make appropriate recommendations to senior management for higher approval delegation
• Prepare daily credit reports and monitor credit exposures. Resolve issues when exceptions occur and properly escalat to senior team members as necessary
• Monitor for adverse news which could potentially deteriorate counterparty / issuer credit quality
• Produce Risk Committee and Management reports

• Support ad-hoc requests from business and other internal clients

Requirements

• 5-10 years of relevant risk management experience in Brokerage / Financial institution
