Job description

At Warner Music Group, we're a global collective of music makers and music lovers, tech innovators and inspired entrepreneurs, game-changing creatives and passionate team members. Here, we turn dreams into stardom and audiences into fans. We are guided by three core values that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:

  • Curiosity: We do our best work when we're immersing ourselves in culture and breaking through barriers. Curiosity is the driving force behind creativity and ingenuity. It fuels innovation, and innovation is the key to our future.
  • Collaboration: Making music and bringing it to the world is all about the power of originality amplified by teamwork. A great idea, like a great song, travels globally. We ignite passions and build connections across our diverse community of artists, songwriters, partners, and fans.
  • Commitment: We pursue excellence for our team and our talent. Everything in music starts with a leap into the unknown, and we're committed to keeping the faith, acting with integrity, and delivering on our promises.

WMG is home to a wide range of artists, musicians, and songwriters that fuel our success. That is why we are committed to creating a work environment that actively values, appreciates, and respects everyone. We encourage applications from people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds – an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent.

A little bit about our team:

You'll join the Hong Kong label's International team – a three-person team led by the Senior Manager, Import and Export Strategy, alongside an Executive, Import Strategy, covering both import and export for Hong Kong. The Senior Manager and Executive focus on bringing international artists into the Hong Kong market; this role is the team's dedicated export focus, working with our key domestic artists who have the potential to break outside the home market. Between the three of you, the team covers Hong Kong's full import and export remit.

On the export side, we work hand-in-hand with the regional Artist Strategy team, who take the artists we build here into full international development under the Listen Up Program once there's real traction to build on.

Our mandate is to find the domestic artists who don't yet have a footprint outside Hong Kong, and start the groundswell: building the first wave of international visibility, press, and audience so that when an artist is ready for a bigger regional investment, the case is already made.

Why this could be your next big break:

This is your opportunity to be the first mover on Hong Kong's next wave of exportable artists – spotting who's ready before anyone else does, and building the early proof that gets them there. You'll work at the intersection of the local label and the regional Artist Strategy team, pitching Hong Kong artists into Greater China and select APAC markets, and building the relationships, press, and platform traction that takes an artist from "only known at home" to "ready for Listen Up."

You'll get hands-on ownership of real artists at the earliest, most formative stage of their export journey – with a direct line of sight to the Senior Manager, Import and Export Strategy, and into the regional team once an artist graduates from your groundswell work to their full campaign.

What you'll do:
  • Export Readiness & Groundswell Building: Identify domestic artists with early export potential and build the case for outbound investment; build initial international profile and momentum in Greater China (and select APAC markets) ahead of any full-scale campaign investment; prepare artists and assets for a clean hand-off to the regional Artist Strategy / Listen Up team once traction is established.
  • International Media Pitching: Proactively pitch artists and projects to relevant international media, press, and key industry contacts in target markets to build early external visibility.
  • Agency Oversight: Manage and liaise with external agencies, local consultants, and vendors in target territories to ensure campaign activity is delivered on time and on brief.
  • Global Newsletter Curation: Own the curation and distribution of regular artist/export updates to internal, regional, and global stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned on milestones and momentum.
  • Campaign Coordination: Coordinate campaign timelines, deliverables, and localisation efforts with the regional/international team.
  • Communication Hub: Act as day-to-day point of contact between the Hong Kong label team, regional stakeholders, and artist management to keep momentum and updates flowing.
  • On-Ground Support: Assist with on-ground marketing activations, showcases, and promotional touchpoints tied to export milestones.
  • Market Intelligence & Performance Tracking: Track streaming, social, and airplay performance across target markets; monitor regional trends and platform dynamics, including Mainland China platforms, to spot emerging opportunities.
  • Information Management: Maintain campaign documentation and artist information in internal systems.
  • Budget & Admin Support: Assist with tracking export-related spend and raising POs within defined budgets.
How this role is measured:
  • Growth in artist consumption outside Hong Kong: (streaming, social, and audience metrics) for the artists you build
  • Growth in Artist Level for key artists outside their home market: tracked in liaison with the regional marketing team
About you:
  • Experienced Marketer: You have 3-5 years' experience in music marketing, digital PR, media relations, or entertainment, within Hong Kong or the Greater China region.
  • Media & Agency Experience: You've pitched to press or platforms before, and you're comfortable directing external agencies and vendors to deliver on a brief.
  • Excellent Communicator: Fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese, with strong Mandarin for Mainland/Taiwan-facing work; confident communicating with international partners and curating regular stakeholder updates.
  • Market & Platform Literate: You understand streaming platforms, audience metrics, and campaign tracking, and you're familiar with Mainland China channels such as Xiaohongshu (XHS), WeChat, and Douyin.
  • Highly Organized: Strong coordination and multitasking skills, comfortable managing several artists and stakeholders – local and regional – at once.
  • Early-Stage Mindset: You're energized by building the case for an artist before there's already traction to point to, not just executing an established campaign.
  • International Network: Previous media relations experience or overseas work/study experience is a strong advantage.
