Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking an Investment Risk Associate in the APAC Asset Management Risk team to identify, assess, and manage portfolio risks.

You will work with investment professionals and partners across regions to provide insights that improve portfolio construction and risk transparency. You will analyze exposures, monitor macro-driven risks, and develop dashboards and reporting using Python, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills for evaluating complex investment and portfolio risks.
• Ability to synthesize information and communicate risk clearly in writing and discussions with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams and regions.
• Interest in investment risk management, portfolio analytics, market structure, and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent risk oversight across investment portfolios in Asia Pacific
• Analyze portfolio exposures and key risk drivers (market, liquidity, concentration, leverage, currency, factor, model risks)
• Monitor market developments and identify emerging risks
• Evaluate risk and return characteristics of investment strategies and challenge portfolio positioning and assumptions
• Produce clear, actionable risk insights for portfolio managers and risk governance forums
• Develop and enhance risk metrics, dashboards, and reporting to improve transparency and decision‑making
• Leverage data analytics, automation, and AI tools to strengthen monitoring and risk intelligence
