Job summary

Mizuho Bank, Ltd. in Hong Kong seeks a senior professional with strong experience in financial sponsor coverage and M&A advisory to originate and execute cross-border transactions across APAC (ex-Japan).

You will work with sector, product, and country bankers to tailor solutions and manage deal execution from origination to closing. The role requires seven years of relevant experience, a finance-related bachelor’s degree, and excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years of relevant experience in financial sponsor coverage, M&A / financial advisory and industry teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical abilities with an understanding of M&A, capital markets, private debt / credit, financial markets and corporate banking products.
• A strong team player, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and able to work independently if needed.
• Travelling within APAC may be necessary.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher is a minimum requirement, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Originate / support-to-originate businesses from existing and prospective clients in APAC (ex-Japan) in the financial sponsor space.
• Proactively cover financial sponsor clients with strategic conversations, presentations and pitchbooks.
• Collaborate with sector, product and country bankers across APAC to pitch products/solutions and participate in execution.
• Lead deal execution and coordinate with clients, legal counsel and internal stakeholders as needed.
• Support development of the Bank’s distribution capabilities including private debt / credit.
• Educate and mentor team members and strengthen deal origination within Mizuho Financial Group.
• Perform concurrent assignments in MHSA / MHSS after licensure.
