Job summary

Barclays APAC Data Lead role within the APAC Chief Data Office focuses on delivering data management processes and governance for the IB business, and oversight data governance and risk across the region.

You will develop, implement and maintain governance frameworks for data and records, monitor data quality, address gaps, and provide training and guidance on data management standards to the wider organization.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of data architecture, integration, sourcing & provisioning, AI, and cloud computing.
  • Understanding of policies to manage non-financial regulatory reporting and records risk.
  • Data privacy, protection and security.

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of a governance framework for data and records aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor data quality and records metrics across the organization.
  • Identify and address data and records management risks and gaps.
  • Develop and implement a records management programme for identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval and disposal.
  • Develop and implement a data governance strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standards.

Join us as an APAC Data Lead at Barclays, which is an integral role within the APAC Chief Data Office team responsible for the delivery of data management processes and controls for the IB business and oversight data governance and risk of the region.

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the bank's global operations.

Accountabilities
  • Development and maintenance of a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitoring data quality and records metrics and compliance with standards across the organization.
  • Identification and addressing of data and records management risks and gaps.
  • Development and implementation of a records management programme that ensures the proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval and disposal of records.
  • Development and implementation of a data governance strategy that aligns with the bank's overall data management strategy and business objectives.
  • Provision of Group wide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standard requirements.
