Job summary

Allied World is seeking a talented university student to join our Asia-Pacific pricing team for a six-month internship. You will gain hands-on experience in general insurance pricing while working alongside experienced actuaries and underwriters across the region.

You will contribute to actuarial projects and help turn business needs into actionable solutions, including development and refinement of rating models, and preparation of pricing indications for large accounts.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics, data analytics or a related discipline
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Programming experience or exposure to VBA, Python, SAS or R would be beneficial
• Strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn
• Strong ethics and integrity; open communication and teamwork are essential

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the development, testing and refinement of rating models
• Supporting the preparation of pricing indications for individual large accounts
• Assisting with the reporting and monitoring of key portfolio metrics for management and business stakeholders
• Supporting the automation and enhancement of pricing processes, reporting and analytical workflows
• Any other duties, as assigned by the manager
