Job summary

Hong Kong Life Insurance Limited is seeking a software engineer to join our IT team to develop, test, implement and maintain both web applications and backend systems. You will work closely with a System Analyst and participate in ongoing system support and enhancements.

The role requires a university degree in Computer Science or IT, 1-3 years of IT experience (insurance knowledge is a plus), and strong analytical and communication skills in Chinese and English.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or IT related discipline.
• 1-3 years' IT experience; life/employee benefit insurance experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, Node.JS, Vue.JS and VB/Crystal/Jasper reporting is advantageous.
• Knowledge of AIX/Linux, WebSphere, Oracle, MS SQL and VB.Net is helpful.
• Familiarity with modern front-end/mobile frameworks (Angular.js, Vue.js, React/React Native, Flutter).
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Chinese and English.

Perform system development, testing, implementation, maintenance support, documentation and user training

Work with System Analyst for system development of the web application and backend systems

Participate in on-going system support & enhancement

Conduct SIT and support UAT to ensure the enhanced systems meet the requirement specifications

Requirements

University Degree holder in Computer Science or IT related disciplines

1-3 years' practical work experience in Information Technology; Demonstrated experience in Life Insurance and Employee Benefit Insurance is a definite asset

Good analytical mind and problem-solving skills with a can-do attribute

Experience in Spring Boot, Hibernate, Node.JS, Vue.JS, Visual Basic, Crystal & Jasper Reporting tools will be an advantage

Knowledge in AIX/Linux, Websphere, Oracle, MS SQL, VB .Net/Visual Basic will be an advantage

Knowledge in modern front-end / mobile app frameworks (e.g. Angular.js, Vue.js, React/React Native, Flutter) will be advantage.

Good interpersonal, verbal and communication skills

Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English

Fresh graduated will also be considered
