Responsibilities

  • Analyze clients' financial and compensation data versus market using Excel modelling under supervision.

  • Research public filings; develop peer groups; use Mercer in-house tools to run reports and extract market data.
  • Prepare client presentations/reports using Excel data and PowerPoint for review by senior consultants.
  • Support seminar/workshop tasks under close supervision of senior consultants.

Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Career Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

  • Compensation consultants work with a wide range of clients to help them develop and implement reward programs for their employees, providing expert advice on pay philosophy, reward strategy, incentive design, market trends, regulations and best practices.
  • Drawing on global research and rigorous analysis, compensation consultants equip clients with guidance, knowledge, tools and support to ensure their reward programs reinforce their strategic objectives.
  • As an entry-level individual contributor, a Compensation Consulting Analyst is ready to apply the knowledge acquired via an advanced education and to start to develop professional skills with the help of a manager and more experienced team members.

We will count on you to:

  • Under direct supervision analyse clients' financial and compensation data versus market utilising excel modelling skills.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure market data are reasonable and client specifications are met, and complete revisions as necessary. Create exhibits to compare market compensation data to client compensation data.
  • Understand talent management trends, pay practices and policies for a particular client and within the broader marketplace.
  • Research public filings to gather financial data, develop peer groups to analyse client data and uses Mercer's in house technology to run reports and extract market data to use in production of analysis. May also research other areas to solicit knowledge at the request of senior consultants.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations/ reports by using excel data and PowerPoint for review by more senior consultants.
  • Support seminar/workshop tasks when necessary under close supervision of more senior consultants.

What you need to have:

  • University graduates major in Human Resources, Business Management or relevant discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in management consulting, total rewards, compensation, human resources or accounting preferred.
  • Proactive at work and able to manage tight deadlines
  • Intellectually curious with high learnability
  • Flexible in working with different seniors and demonstrate a strong team spirit
  • Proficient skills with Excel and PowerPoint
