Salary: Disciplined Services (Officer) Pay Scale Point 23 (HK$87,485 per month) to Disciplined Services (Officer) Pay Scale Point 37 (HK$151,750 per month)
Entry Requirements
Candidates should -
- (a) have a Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department Aircraft Maintenance Licence (HKAR-66) in Category B1.1 or B1.3; and 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a supervisory position [Note (1)];
- (b) have a sound knowledge of a related licence category with the ability to obtain the licence category endorsement;
- (c) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Note (2)] or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and be able to communicate in Chinese; and
- (d) have a pass result in Basic Law and National Security Law Test [Note (3)].
Note
- (1) Candidates who could meet the entry requirements by the time of offer of appointment would also be considered.
- (2) For civil service appointment purpose, "Grade E' in English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to "Level2' in English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
- (3) All applicants for civil service jobs will be assessed on their knowledge of the Basic Law and the National Security Law. A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test is an entry requirement for all civil service jobs. Only those candidates who have passed the Basic Law and National Security Law Test will be considered for appointment. For candidates who have not taken the relevant Basic Law and National Security Law Test or have not attained a pass result in the relevant Basic Law and National Security Law Test at the time of application, they may still apply for the job and arrangements will be made for them to take the relevant Basic Law and National Security Law Test during the recruitment process.
Duties
Mainly deployed on –
- (a) supervision and certification of aircraft maintenance and servicing activities in accordance with Hong Kong Aviation Requirements 145 and Government Flying Service engineering procedures;
- (b) training of maintenance staff; and
- (c) any other duties as required by the Controller, Government Flying Service.
(Note: The appointees are required to wear uniform and work shifts / irregular hours.)
Terms of Appointment: New recruits will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.

- (i) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
