Working closely with the Group CEO, CTO and business stakeholders, you will evaluate ideas, architect solutions and build prototypes that demonstrate measurable business value.
The role will cover both new proofs of concept and the refinement of existing initiatives. You will collaborate with the technology team to ensure successful solutions can progress towards production, meeting wider architectural, security, scalability and reliability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the Group CEO, CTO and business stakeholders to identify, assess and prioritise AI opportunities across maritime and asset management.
Translate business problems and early-stage ideas into clear technical approaches, prototypes and proofs of concept.
Take a hands-on role in designing, building and evaluating AI solutions, drawing on data science, data engineering and AI implementation expertise.
Review existing prototypes and improve their effectiveness, robustness and readiness for production.
Define success criteria and validate solutions against business outcomes, technical feasibility and user needs.
Evaluate and integrate suitable AI frameworks and LLM providers within the existing AWS and data lake environment.
Collaborate with the technology team to align solutions with enterprise architecture and non-functional requirements, including security, scalability and reliability.
Communicate technical options, progress and recommendations clearly to executive and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Strong foundations in data science, data engineering and practical AI implementation.
Proven experience building AI solutions from initial concept through prototyping and towards production.
Hands-on experience with LLMs, generative AI frameworks and integrating AI capabilities into business workflows.
Experience working with AWS environments and data lake architectures.
Ability to assess different models and providers and select appropriate approaches for each use case.
Sound understanding of architecture, security, scalability and reliability considerations for enterprise AI solutions.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into practical technical deliverables.
A demonstrable portfolio of AI projects that delivered clear business value.
Comfortable working independently, balancing rapid experimentation with sound engineering practices.
