Job summary

Oliver James Associates Limited is seeking an AI Engineer (Financial Services - Software) in Hong Kong to build and maintain AI-driven applications, including chatbots, leveraging LLMs and AI frameworks. You will deploy, monitor, and iterate on production systems while supporting internal and customer-facing solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in IT/ software engineering, strong Python with FastAPI/Flask, and solid AWS and container experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years IT/ software engineering experience.
• Experience building or supporting chatbot applications.
• Experience with monitoring, patching, dependency upgrades, and writing runbooks.
• Strong knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector search, LLMs, evaluation and AI guardrails.
• Strong Python skills with FastAPI or Flask.
• Experience developing REST APIs and system integrations.
• Solid AWS experience, including deploying apps to production.
• Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/ECS, IAM, CloudWatch, S3, RDS, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues across apps, APIs, Kubernetes, networks, and integrations.
• Effective communication in Cantonese and English.
• Insurance/FSI experience preferred.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock or other LLM platforms preferred.
• Candidates with lesser experience may be considered for a more junior position.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve AI applications from a technical standpoint.
• Handle deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvements of AI applications.
• Support chatbot and AI-driven solutions for customers and internal agents.
• Apply LLM technologies and AI frameworks to develop and enhance applications.
• Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance AI applications.
• Support daily operations and address production issues.
• Contribute to development of new AI features and functionalities.
• Progressively take ownership of applications development.
