Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation in Hong Kong is seeking AI Developer interns for the 2027 Winter term (January–April) or Summer term (June–August). The role is based in Science Park, with a hybrid work arrangement and collaboration with teams in Canada.

You will work on building AI-driven insurance solutions, using Python, NLP/LLM, and a modern ML stack. This internship offers learning paths, mentorship, and hands-on project experience in data science and software engineering.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary degree in a quantitative field.
• Available to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Winter 2027 or Summer 2027 term.
• Active student during internship and/or returning to school after the internship.
• Experience in predictive modelling, ML or statistics is a plus.
• Curiosity and willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Ability to tackle vaguely defined issues with a creative approach.
• Excellent communication, organization and collaboration skills.
• Self-reliant with strong sense of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Use ML and statistics to build innovative customer/business solutions.
• Turn complex datasets into actionable insights and recommendations.

We are looking for AI Developer interns who want to join our 2027 AI Developer Internship/Co-op for our Winter term, January to April or Summer 2027 term (June to August). This position is based in Science Park, Hong Kong with the opportunity to work in a hybrid arrangement.

As a AI Developer I, you will:

• Use machine learning and advanced statistics to help build innovative solutions for real-life customer and business problems
• Transform complex datasets into meaningful conclusions and recommendations
• Grow alongside a diverse team of world-class experts in data science, software engineering, actuarial science, business, and design
• Collaborate with our teams in HK & Canada to share knowledge, learnings, and tools
• Skills required: Python, NLP/LLM
• Familiar with our tech stack: scikit-learn, xgboost, pytorch, tensorflow, LightGBM, pandas, etc.,

Here’s what you bring to the table:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, science, engineering, statistics, AI, computer science or a related field.
• Available to work with us full-time, 37.5 hours per week, for the Winter 2027 term (January to April) or Summer 2027 term (June to August)
• Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school following your internship.
• Relevant experience in predictive modelling, machine learning and advanced statistics solving business problems is an asset
• Unlimited curiosity and a passion to challenge the status quo
• Ability to focus on vaguely defined issues requiring the application of a creative approach
• Excellent communication, organization and a collaborative attitude
• Self-reliant with a strong sense of responsibility;
