Job summary

Alter Domus Hong Kong Limited is seeking a seasoned accounting and financial reporting professional to manage monthly, quarterly and yearly closings under IFRS and local GAAP. You will prepare internal and external reporting, including VAT, regulatory filings and supporting audit activities.

The role requires a degree in accounting or related field, 5+ years in accounting, IFRS experience, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or economics.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with IFRS in the preparation of financial statements.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Strong organizational, analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly closing activities for Asian entities under IFRS and local GAAP within required deadlines.
• Prepare deliverables to support internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and management analysis.
• Prepare periodic VAT and tax returns.
• Prepare regulatory reporting.
• Involvement in the annual audit process and preparation of the annual financial statements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain efficient and compliant accounting and reporting processes; support controls.
• Contribute to improvement initiatives, standardization and process re-engineering.
• Assist the business to achieve commercial objectives and act as adviser on financial matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducting monthly, quarterly and yearly closing activities for Asian entities under IFRS and local GAAP within required deadlines
• Preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders
• Preparation of periodic VAT and tax returns
• Preparation of regulatory reporting
• Involvement in the annual audit process and preparation of the annual financial statements
• Working with various cross-functional stakeholders to maintain efficient and compliant accounting and reporting processes, and effective controls
• Actively contributing to improvement initiatives, standardization, re-engineering of processes and controls, and implementation of best practices
• Assist the business to achieve commercial objectives, including the ability to act as an adviser on financial matters
• Other ad-hoc assignments as required

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or economics
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with an emphasis on accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization
• Experience working with IFRS in the preparation of financial statements
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Detail-oriented yet able to reflect on and understand the big picture
• Able to work effectively, respecting all deadlines with minimal management guidance/supervision
• Able to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-growing and dynamic environment, especially in industries that are undergoing rapid digit transformation
• Able to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent organizational, analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• ACCA, CPA, or equivalent certification
• SAP S4 Hana knowledge will be considered an asset
• Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes and technology challenges in order to identify issues and opportunities
