Job summary
A leading technology firm is seeking a Senior Back End Developer for a 12-month remote contract. The role requires 5+ years of experience in Node.js and Lambda API development, along with expertise in AWS services and SQL database management. The candidate will also mentor junior team members and work on integrating back-end processing with enterprise systems. This position starts ASAP and is outside IR35.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with Node.js and Lambda API development.
- 5+ years of CI/CD expertise with GitLab and AWS Serverless resources.
- 7+ years of SQL database management and performance tuning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and guide design of serverless solutions.
- Mentor junior-level team members.
- Integrate back-end processing with clients' Enterprise Systems.

About the Role
A Senior Back End Developer will develop and guide design and efforts of new serverless solutions that seamlessly integrate back-end processing within the clients Enterprise Systems.
To be effective, the applicant must have an in-depth knowledge of design in modern programming languages & web technologies, backend infrastructure & databases, and AWS cloud services. The applicant will also need to be able to mentor junior-level team members.
Responsibilities
- 5+ years Node.js and Lambda API development with PostGres
- 5 + years CI/CD expertise with gitlab, AWS Serverless resources such as, Kinesis, Firehose, SQS, SNS, etc
- Redshift (not a must have)
- 2+ years working closely with product managers, business analysts, and solutions architects
- 7+ years with SQL database management, performance tuning and stored procedures
- 5+ years troubleshooting and resolving issues in SQL
- 5+ years of experience with data integration from various sources (e.g., APIs, databases, streaming platforms) into a centralized enterprise application, data lake or warehouse
